Van Long Nature Reserve
The largest wetland reserve in the northern delta — crystal-clear waters, towering karsts, and one of the best spots to spot rare Delacour's langurs.
Overview
Van Long is the quietest and most pristine of Ninh Binh's wetland reserves. Glassy water reflects sheer limestone walls, and the silence is broken only by birdsong and the dip of oars. It is one of the best places in Vietnam to spot the critically endangered Delacour's langur — white-and-black monkeys that live only on these karst cliffs. Over 70 bird species have been recorded here.
Entry: 20,000 VND; boat: 50,000 VND. Far fewer tourists than Tam Coc — arrive early for the best wildlife sightings.
