Tran Phu Beach

Nha Trang's 7 km city beach lined with palms and hotels — the hub for water sports, people-watching, and the famous seafront promenade.

Overview

Tran Phu Beach is Nha Trang's seafront spine — a 7 km arc of beach running parallel to the city's main boulevard, lined with coconut palms, sun loungers, and a wide, well-maintained promenade. The beach is at its best in the early morning, when local residents do tai chi and swim before the tourist activity picks up. By mid-morning it fills with parasailing, jet-skiing, and glass-bottom boat operators. The water is generally clean and swimmable; the best swimming is away from the boat launch areas at the northern and southern ends. The promenade is one of the finest places in Vietnam to walk at dusk as the city lights come on.

Free access. Sunlounger hire approximately 50,000 VND. Water sports operators line the beach throughout the day; prices are negotiable. Most active May–September during the dry season; can be rough and murky October–January during the northeast monsoon.
