Eo Gio (Wind Strait)

A wild coastal cliff formation where the wind whistles through a narrow rock strait — winding stone paths lead to dramatic sea views and one of Quy Nhon's best photography spots.

Overview

Eo Gio ("Wind Strait") is a narrow cleft in a coastal cliff formation about 25 km north of Quy Nhon where the sea breeze is funnelled through the rocks with an audible whistle. Stone paths cut into the clifftop lead through the formations to a series of dramatic viewpoints — sheer drops to the churning sea below, layered rock strata, and on clear days a view north along the coast toward the Hon Seo diving islands. It is not a swimming beach — the currents below the cliffs are dangerous — but as a photography and hiking destination it is one of the most visually striking spots on the south-central coast.

Entry approximately 30,000 VND. Open daily. Located near Nhon Ly village — about 25 km north of Quy Nhon, 30 minutes by motorbike along a scenic coastal road. Best at sunrise (dramatic light on the cliffs) or late afternoon. Allow 1–2 hours to walk the full cliff path.
