Suoi Tranh Waterfall

The island's most impressive waterfall — a series of cascades and natural rock pools in the jungle 7 km from Duong Dong town, best visited during the rainy season.

Overview

Suoi Tranh (Suối Tranh) is Phu Quoc's most scenic waterfall, set in the jungle 7 km southeast of Duong Dong town. A short trail through secondary forest leads to a series of cascades over smooth granite boulders with natural pools at each level deep enough for swimming. The flow varies dramatically with the season: during the May–September rains the falls are powerful and the pools full; in the dry season (November–April) the stream slows to a trickle and swimming is limited. Either way the forest walk is pleasant and the site is rarely crowded on weekday mornings.

Entry: approximately 5,000 VND. Open daily. The main cascade is a 10-minute walk from the car park; upper pools require another 15–20 minutes of scrambling. Bring water shoes — the rocks are slippery. Easily combined with a morning at Sao Beach on the same day trip south of Duong Dong.
