Sleeper Bus in Vietnam: Economy vs Cabin Class Guide

Sleeper buses have become one of Vietnam most popular transportation options for journeys over 100 kilometers. But there are two very different types — and knowing which to book makes a significant difference to your comfort.

Economy Class Sleeper Buses

Economy class buses feature either 44, 34, or 32 beds arranged in three rows across two levels. These vehicles accommodate passengers under 180 centimeters tall and provide basic amenities including cushions, blankets, and drinking water. Some models include USB charging ports.

  • Price: VND 250,000-300,000 (approximately -12 USD)
  • Example route: Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat (~600km) takes about 8 hours and costs around VND 280,000
  • Height limit: Around 180cm

Cabin Class Sleeper Buses

Cabin class buses contain 22 cabins (11 per side, two levels), each accommodating two adults.

  • Price: VND 550,000-750,000 per cabin
  • Features: TV screens, charging ports, massage-function mattresses; some include onboard toilets
  • Height limit: Around 170cm per person
  • Extras: Pick-up and drop-off services often included

Other Bus Options

  • Standard minibuses/coaches: Best for trips under 100km. Cost under VND 100,000.
  • Premium minibuses (limousines): 9-28 seat configurations with plush seating, charging outlets, individual TVs. Cost VND 100,000-200,000.
