Ong Lang Beach

A quieter, rockier alternative to Long Beach on the northwest coast — good for kayaking, sunset watching, and beach barbecues away from the resort strip.

Overview

Ong Lang Beach on the northwest coast is the island's best option for travellers who want a real beach without the Long Beach resort corridor. The shoreline alternates between sandy coves and rocky outcrops draped in jungle, and the water is clear enough for snorkelling directly from shore. Several boutique resorts and guesthouses are set back among the trees. At low tide, tide pools form around the rocks; at sunset, the northwest-facing aspect gives long golden light over the Cambodian coast on the horizon.

About 8 km north of Duong Dong town. Kayak hire available from beach operators (~100,000 VND/hour). The beach is quieter Monday–Thursday. Several good restaurants are within walking distance of the shore, including a few serving fresh-caught seafood with sunset views.
