Best Cities in Vietnam for Digital Nomads in 2026

Vietnam has quietly become one of the best countries in the world for digital nomads. Fast internet, low cost of living, incredible food, and a relatively straightforward visa situation (more on that below) make it a compelling base. But not all cities are equal. Here’s how they stack up in 2026.

1. Da Nang — Best Overall

Da Nang wins for infrastructure. Fibre internet is standard in apartments ($15–20/month for 300Mbps). The coworking scene is strong — Toong, Got It, and Base Camp are the best options. Cost of living is slightly higher than Hanoi but the beach, clean streets, and proximity to Hoi An and Hue make it unbeatable for quality of life. Growing expat community without the density of Hanoi.

2. Ho Chi Minh City — Best for Networking

HCMC has the strongest startup and tech community in Vietnam. Toong and Dreamplex coworking spaces are excellent. District 2 (Thu Duc) and District 7 have thriving expat neighbourhoods. It’s louder, more expensive, and more chaotic than Da Nang — but the energy and opportunities are unmatched in Southeast Asia.

3. Hanoi — Best for Culture & History

Slower pace, cheaper rents, better street food (controversial opinion, I know). The coworking scene is growing fast — Toong Ba Trieu and Up Coworking are reliable. Tay Ho and Hoan Kiem are the preferred expat neighbourhoods. Four distinct seasons including a proper cool winter, which many Westerners appreciate.
